MARSHALL, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State extended its winning streak to four games, matching its longest of the season, by defeating Minnesota, Crookston 75-50 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference basketball Saturday night in Marshall.
SMSU, ranked No. 10 in the NCAA Central Region rankings, had five players score in double figures for the second time this season. Kevin Andrews and Taylor Huseby each scored 13 points on a combined 11 of 15 shooting. Scott Roehl grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and also added 11 points for his third double-double of the season.
SMSU (13-8 overall, 8-7 NSIC) never trailed in the game and built a 48-23 halftime lead by shooting 52.9 percent in the opening half and limiting UMC to just 31.6 percent.
