MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team swept both doubles and singles play, not losing a single set, to hand Minnesota, Crookston a 9-0 loss and pick up its third straight conference win Friday afternoon in Sartell, Minn.
SMSU improves to 4-12 (3-6 NSIC), while UMC drops to 0-9 (1-9 NSIC).
In doubles play, the Mustangs' No. 2 duo of
Cailey Grupe and
Trisha Baldwin and No. 3 pair of
Danielle Hildebrandt and
Angie Wiegmann both blanked UMC's respective doubles pairs 8-0.
SMSU was flawless in singles play, not dropping a set; Baldwin recorded the most impressive performance, winning 6-0, 6-0 over UMC's Gretchen Anderson from her No. 4 spot.
SMSU will host Minnesota State Moorhead tomorrow at 11 a.m.
