Mustangs Pick Up All-NSIC Honors

ST. PAUL, Minn. -
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced that Southwest Minnesota State senior Danielle Hildebrandt and freshman Lissa Murakami have been named singles All-NSIC honorable mention, while juniors Cailey Grupe and Trisha Baldwin have been named doubles All-NSIC honorable mention.  

This marks Hildebrandt's third singles All-NSIC accolade; she was also an honorable mention pick in 2009 and 2008.  A native of St. James, Minn., Hildebrandt compiled a 10-10 singles record in 2010, playing at SMSU's No. 2 spot.

A native of São Paulo, Brazil, Murakami finished the 2010 season with a singles record of 11-8, playing in the No. 1 position.

Grupe, who is from Trimont, Minn., and Baldwin, who is from Montevideo, Minn., charted a 15-7 doubles record and held down the No. 1 spot for SMSU all season.

SMSU finished its season with an overall record of 9-11 (4-6 NSIC).  The Mustangs took the No. 7 seed to the NSIC Tournament where they were defeated by St. Cloud State in the opening round.
