MARSHALL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State will host the 33rd Annual National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament this weekend as seven of the nation's top teams will battle for the 2010 national championship in the R/A Facility.

SMSU student-athletes will be going door-to-door in the  community to collect nonperishable food items for the Kitchen Table Food  Shelf in Marshall.

Registration will be  promptly at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 9.

There will be two mandatory clinics to teach tryout material.   Individuals will learn a four eight-count dance, two cheers, the SMSU  Fight Song, jumps and basic stunting.  Gymnastic ability is a bonus but  is not required. Schunk lost 10-9 to Mario Morgan of Nebraska-Omaha at 141 lb., Johnson lost 6-3 to Tim Darling of Kutztown at 174 lb., while Rodas dropped a 5-2 decision to Charlie Alexander of Western State.
