The 1990 Football Team captured a share of the program's first conference championship with a league mark of 5-1.

The team finished 8-3 overall and qualified for the 1990 NAIA playoffs for only the second time in school history.

The squad had many outstanding players under head coach Gary Buer, including five NAIA All-Americas and all-conference players.

Quarterback Jeff Loots was named the NIC Offensive Player of the Year, while Buer was named NAIA District 13 Coach of the Year.
