SMSU Athletics

Cindy Achterhoff (1973-77, track) was a standout track and field athlete at SMSU and also served as head track coach in 1983 and 1985.

Achterhoff participated in sprints at the 1976 AIAW national championships, while in 1977 she won the MAIAW 100-yard dash championship.  She was a seven-time MAIAW individual state place-winner and a four-time AIAW individual regional place-winner.

Achterhoff was an orginal member of the SMSU PE Building Wall of Fame.
