Curt Strasheim (football/baseball, 1978-82) was a two-sport standout at SMSU and later served as head football coach at SMSU for four seasons (2000-03).

A native of Granite Falls, Minn., Strasheim was a two-time NAIA All-America in football and was named the 1981 NIC Most Valuable Player.  He set numerous conference records for total offense and passing and helped lead the Mustangs to the first winning season in school history in 1981.

On the baseball field, Strasheim was a four-year letterwinner and was named all-conference three times and NAIA All-District twice.  He still holds the school record (as of 2010) for batting average in a single-season hitting at .462 in 1981  and is second in career batting average.

Strasheim was inducted into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Hall of Fame in 2002.
