Mike Barry (baseball, 1971-74) put together a solid four-year career at SMSU and helped the program to its first conference championship in 1974.

Barry finished his four-year career with a .371 batting average, which still ranks among the top 10 in school history.  He was a two-time All-NIC and All-District honoree in both 1973 and 1974 and was named team MVP and best defensive player following the 1974 season.  Barry ended his career smacking six home runs, 22 doubles, 10 triples and 69 RBIs.

During SMSU's conference and district championship season in 1974, Barry batted .350 with eight doubles and three home runs.
