Sheldon and Marge Haaland (community members) have been involved with the university and the SMSU athletics department since the early 1970s.
The Haalands have been active members of the SMSU Mustang Booster Club, while Sheldon has served as a board member on both the Mustang Booster Club and SMSU Foundation board of directors.
Sheldon and Marge have also both served on various booster club committees.
Sheldon and Marge are both retired and live in Marshall. They have two daughters, Amy and Allison.
