Val Hatten (swimming, 1974-78) was a four-year letterwinner for the SMSU women's swim team. She was a four-time team Most Valuable Swimmer.

She was a seven-time place winner at MAIAW state meets and placed in four straight state meets.

Hatten was an original member of the SMSU PE Building Wall of Fame.
