MANHEIM, Pa. – The Southwest Minnesota State University wrestling program had seven student-athletes named to the 2011-12 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division II All-Academic team announced last week at the NCAA II national championships in Pueblo, Colo.
Five Mustangs earned second team honors including senior
Martin Hagen, sophomores
Ethan Hildebrandt,
Micah Larson,
Justin Reinsma and redshirt freshman
Cole Wilson. Senior
Trent Molacek and sophomore
Andrew Rodas were both named to the honorable mention team.
To be named to the Division II All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a grade-point average of at least 3.0, be in his second year at his school, be a varsity member or key reserve and have a minimum of two letters of recommendation submitted on his behalf.
As a team, SMSU finished ninth in the country in the team category with a GPA of 3.243.
Reinsma also earned All-America honors last weekend with a seventh place finish at the NCAA championships finishing with a 3-2 record.
