February 3, 2011 – Hoof Prints Article

Hello Mustang Fans!

I would like to thank all the fans who came out to support our Mustang Wrestling, Women’s Basketball and Men’s Basketball teams last Friday and Saturday nights. The Hawaiian Night crowd was one of the largest I have seen since coming to SMSU. It was a great atmosphere and we in the SMSU Athletics Department are very thankful for your support this past weekend.

The SMSU Football team announced the Class of 2011 student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent to attend SMSU and play football for the Mustangs next fall. Before it is all said and done, Mustang Football will bring in over forty new student-athletes, both freshmen and transfers, to join the team for this upcoming season. Head Coach, Cory Sauter, presented video highlights and a brief overview of some of the recruits we have signed at the Mustang Booster Club Luncheon held at Shay’s Lounge yesterday over the noon hour.

This year’s Gold Rush Raffle hosted by the Mustang Booster Club will be on Friday, February 25 in the SMSU Conference Center Ballroom. Tickets are just $50.00 each for your chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket call the athletic department at 507-537-7204. The tickets are starting to go fast, so please contact us today to secure your opportunity to win some great prizes and be part of an enjoyable social atmosphere.

If you have not been to the Gold Rush Raffle, you should buy a raffle ticket and join us for a night of fun, friendship and laughter. Every year, the raffle gets great reviews from the people who attend. It is a mid-winter social event that you will not want to miss with cash prizes, give-aways, mystery prizes, games, and silent and live raffle items. The Gold Rush is sponsored by the Mustang Booster Club and has sold out all six years. For more information on the Gold Rush Raffle, please go to SMSUmustangs.com and click on the “Gold Rush Raffle” button on the right side of our webpage.
