October 10, 2013 – Hoof Prints Article

Hello Mustang Fans!

SMSU Wheelchair Basketball and Wrestling have practices underway while Women’s and Men’s Basketball begin on Tuesday, October 15 and Indoor Track & Field will start their workouts on November 1. This is one of the busiest times of the year for the SMSU Athletics program as our fall and winter sports overlap seasons. Our student-athletes, coaches and staff members are very hard at work and the activity picks up in all of our athletic facilities. Good luck to all of our winter sports as they begin pre-season practices.

Next Thursday, October 17, the SMSU Women’s, Men’s and Wheelchair Basketball teams will hold the annual "Late Show" in the R/A Facility starting at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7:00 p.m.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will offer the first look of the 2013-14 basketball teams at SMSU. Each team will hold an eight-minute intra-squad scrimmage to go along with three-point and dunk contests. The teams will also be signing autographs following the event.

SMSU Students will have an opportunity to win a number of great prizes. To conclude the evening, one male and one female SMSU student will be picked to attempt a half-court shot with the chance of winning a $1,000 SMSU tuition waiver. Come out next Thursday and support the SMSU Basketball programs as they kick-off their 2013-14 seasons.
