Yesterday was signing day for all sports except for football and women’s soccer. It is an exciting day as we welcome our new student-athletes to the Mustang Family. This Saturday, the SMSU Volleyball team will host the annual Dick Bragg Spring Volleyball Tournament at the R/A Facility in Marshall beginning at 10:00 am. The event is free and open to the public. Along with SMSU, Augustana, Minnesota State, Sioux Falls and South Dakota State will compete in the tournament. Each team will play five rounds facing each team in the tournament once. Each match will play two sets to 25 points.
The Mustang Booster Club will host the 5th Annual Mustang Stampede "Glow Run" and after party next Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Schwan Regional Event Center. The Mustang Stampede Glow Run is a 5K walk/run open to everyone! Registration will begin at 7:00 pm with the race beginning at 8:00 pm. Women, men, students, and families are all encouraged to participate. Strollers are welcome, kids 12 and under are free! Following the run, a "GLOWtastic After Party" will be held following the walk/run!
The event is based on a team concept. A team captain is responsible for recruiting as many members as possible. Individual registration and donations will be applied to the team's fundraising total.
Individuals not associated with a team may also walk or run in the 5K. See individual registration information for the benefits received at each level. All the proceeds from the Mustang Stampede will go to support Women’s Athletic Scholarships at SMSU.
Also mark your calendars as the 2015 David and Carol Drown SMSU Golf Classic will be held on June 12 this spring at the Marshall Golf Club. Sponsorship and registration information can be found on the SMSU Athletics website.
