Complete Region Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 16 Southwest Minnesota State remained at No. 4 in the second Central Region rankings of 2009 released Thursday by the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Committee. The Central Region includes 14 teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and 14 teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
SMSU, which has an in-region record of 16-5, was also ranked No. 4 in the first rankings released on Oct. 15.
NSIC neighbor Concordia University, St. Paul, ranked No. 1 in the nation, again took the top spot in the Central Region rankings. Three of the top four teams are all from the NSIC as Minnesota Duluth, ranked 11th nationally, checked in at No. 3.
The rankings were based on records through Oct. 25.
The Mustangs (19-7, 9-5 NSIC) host UMD and Bemidji State this weekend.
