MARSHALL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State University women’s golf coach Ross Webskowski announced on Wednesday that Marissa Campeau from Osceola, Wis., Rachel Patnoe from Milbank, S.D., and Jessica Williams from New Richmond, Wis., have signed letters of intent to continue their academic and golf careers at SMSU.

“We are excited to have the addition of three quality student-athletes to our program,” Webskowski said.  “All three golfers bring a wealth of experience and will provide us the depth we need to compete for conference and regional championships. We are fortunate that they have chosen to be Mustangs.”

Campeau is currently a senior at St. Croix Falls High School and is a four-year letterwinner and a four-time all-conference honoree.  An all-state honorable mention honoree this past fall, Campeau finished with an 80-stroke average during her senior season.  Campeau is also an outstanding basketball player having earned all-conference honors twice while averaging 17 points per game as a junior.

“Marissa is a highly skilled golfer who hits the ball as well as anyone in our conference,” Webskowski said.  “Her length and accuracy of the tee will help make a smooth transition from high school to college golf.  Marissa is a good athlete who also is a talented basketball player.  She has a great work ethic and passion for golf that will help her make a positive impact on our team next fall.”

Patnoe is currently a senior at Milbank High School where she is a five-year letterwinner and four times has placed among the top five at the South Dakota State Class A High School Tournament.  She finished tied for seventh in 2005, tied for fifth in 2007, second in 2008 and finished fourth in 2009.  Patnoe has helped Milbank to back-to-back state runner-up finishes in 2008 and 2009.  Patnoe is also a letterwinner in both volleyball and basketball.

“Rachel is an all around athlete,” Webskowski said.  “She has grown up on the golf course with her family owning a golf course and has a great understanding of the game.  Rachel’s competitiveness will give her a chance to crack our lineup as a freshman.  She is also an outstanding student and will be an asset both on and off the course.”

Williams is currently a senior at New Richmond High School where she is a four-year letterwinner and is a two-time team most valuable player.  A two-time all-conference honoree, Williams holds the school record for lowest season average and lowest 18-hole score.

“Jessica loves the game of golf and spends many hours on the golf course during the summer,”?Webskowski said.  “Her experience on the junior tour will help her contribute to our team as a freshman.  She has the swing and mindset to be successful in our league.  Jessica has a great personality and will fit in well with our team.”

Southwest Minnesota State, located in Marshall, Minn., is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
