Academic All-District Teams
MARSHALL, Minn. - The College Sports Information Directors of American announced today that Southwest Minnesota State senior setter
Sara Graf has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V College Division first team.
The College Division District V team consists of student-athletes from NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA schools from the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana and was voted upon by sports information directors in the district.
Graf, a native of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, boasts a 3.93 grade point average as an accounting major.
Graf has compiled a team-best 828 assists (11.34/set) so far this season to go along with 75 kills, 162 digs, 19 service aces and 25 blocks. The senior also became the all-time leader in assists at SMSU earlier this season.
This is Graf's third selection to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team; she was a first-team honoree last year and third-team selection in 2007.
Graf was one of six players from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to be named to the first, second or third team Academic All-District.
No. 16 SMSU (21-7, 11-5 NSIC) hosts No. 13 Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday at 3 p.m.
