ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today that  Southwest Minnesota State University junior wide receiver Yousif Youboty has been named special teams player of the week for his performance in SMSU's 52-10 victory over Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday.

Youboty is the second Mustang player to earn a conference player of the week award this season; Levi Reiff was named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week last week.

Youboty, 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Klein, Texas, recorded two blocked punts, had three solo tackles on special teams and caught three passes for 33 yards and one touchdown in SMSU’s 52-10 victory over MSUM. The blocked punts set up the SMSU offense for a touchdown and field goal.

SMSU finished the 2009 season 5-6 (4-6 NSIC).  The five victories for SMSU, along with its six last season, gives SMSU 11 wins in two years, the most combined victories in back-to-back years for the Mustang program since the 1991-92 season.
