SMSU’s Leidall Named All-NSIC

ST. PAUL, Minn. - 
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced Thursday that Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball senior Sara Leidall has been named to the 2008-09 All-NSIC second team.  The selections were voted on by the NSIC's 14 head coaches.

Leidall, a 5-foot-11 forward from Rochester, Minn., finished the season leading the Mustangs in scoring with 13.1 points per game.  She  also averaged 5.0 rebounds per game and shot 42.7 percent from the field. 

Her name resides in the SMSU record book in numerous categories.  She is 10th in career points (1,306), 10th in career three-pointers (74), ninth in career three-point percentage (.363), ninth in career free-throw percentage (.762), tenth in career rebounds (595) and fourth in career starts (100).

The senior also eclipsed the 1,000-point mark this season.

Leidall was an All-NSIC honorable mention pick last season and was named NSIC Newcomer of the Year in 2005-06.

SMSU finished its 2008-09 campaign 14-16 and 6-14 in NSIC play.  The Mustangs were 11th in the final conference standings.
