MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Former Southwest Minnesota State University pitcher Ryan Morse is now in his fifth season of professional baseball and continues to pitch for the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
Morse, who played three seasons at SMSU from 2003-05, is a starting pitcher for Tampa Bay's Double-A affiliate in Montgomery, Ala. He is the only player ever be drafted out of Southwest Minnesota State.
A native of St. Cloud, Minn., Morse is 2-4 this season with a 5.14 ERA in seven starts, pitching 28 innings and recording 17 strikeouts for the Montgomery Biscuits.
