Amanda Neumann led Southwest Minnesota State to a 6-3 victory over the New York Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
SMSU improves to 7-6 and finishes its spring trip 4-5.
Neumann finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs, while Dreessen collected two RBIs in her 1 for 4 performance.
Ali Honken tossed a complete game and fanned nine batters, moving her to 3-3 on the season.
SMSU broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third inning when Dreessen slammed a two-run homer with two outs to put her squad up 2-0.
A Mustang error allowed the Bears to push one across the plate in the bottom of the third.
Neumann collected one of her four RBIs in the top of the fourth inning when she singled to score
Krista Steen, who had singled to lead off the inning.
Another Bear run in the bottom half of the inning kept it a 3-2 contest, but Neumann's three-run shot in the top of the fifth inning gave SMSU a 6-2 advantage.
NYIT managed a solo homer in the seventh inning, but the damage had been done and the Mustangs held on for the 6-3 win.
SMSU will now break until opening the conference season on April 2, hosting Minnesota State, Mankato in a 1 p.m doubleheader.
