OMAHA, Neb. - Southwest Minnesota State's three wrestlers at the NCAA Division II Championships in Omaha, Neb., have all been eliminated from competition after falling Friday night in their second consolation round bouts.
Brandan Schunk, #C.D. Johnson
and Brian Rodas# had all won their first contests in the consolation round early Friday before being defeated Friday night in the following round.
Schunk was defeated by Andre Harrison of Fort Hayes State 16-9 at 141 pounds, while Grand Canyon's Ryan Becerra knocked off Johnson with a 5-2 decision at 184 pounds. At 285 pounds, Rodas was pinned by Pittsburgh-Johnstown's Christopher Dempsey in 5:25.
As a team, SMSU accumulated 2.5 points and finished in 30th place.
