SMSU Tied for Sixth at Region Championships

ROUND 2 LEADERBOARD

LAKE CITY, Minn. -
The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team shot a second round score of 330 and is tied for sixth place with a score of 667 at the nine-team, 54-hole NCAA Super Region Three Championships at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.  Augustana leads the championship with a two-round score of 643, 12 strokes ahead of Western New Mexico (655) and 14 strokes ahead of Minnesota State (657). 

The top three teams and the top three individuals not from the three top teams following tomorrow's final round qualify for the NCAA National Championships on May 12-15, at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.

SMSU's Krista Weiszhaar bounced back from Sunday's round of 91, with a 7-over-par 79 on Monday for team's lowest second round score.  Melissa Lackas shot a 10-over 82 on Monday and is currently in a tie for 11th place with a 162.  KC Kane shot an 11-over 83 in round two and is currently in a tie for 25th place at 167.  Weiszhaar is tied for 31st with a two-day total of 170.  Sarah Baukol recorded a 14-over 86 on Monday and is 33rd with 171, while Steph Bruns shot a 15-over 87 in round two and is tied for 37th at 175.

Augustana's Emily Kvidera continues to lead the championship and has a four-shot lead with an 8-over-par 152. 

Tuesday's final round will begin at 8 a.m.
