MARSHALL, Minn. – The Mustang Booster Club recently sponsored the ninth annual Gold Rush Raffle on Feb. 24 on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University.  More than 350 people were in attendance at this year's event with Mustang Booster Club members selling all 600 available tickets for the raffle.

Over $42,000 was raised, the highest total ever, to benefit student-athlete scholarships through the Mustang Booster Club.  The Mustang Booster Club has raised nearly $250,000 for scholarships over the first nine years of the Gold Rush Raffle.

The final five ticket holders were brought on stage and the final two, Kurt Hovaldt and Kari Ehlers, elected to split the $5,000 grand prize.

The SMSU athletics department and the Mustang Booster Club would like to thank everyone for their support of this great event.  The date for the 10th annual Gold Rush Raffle will be Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.
