MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University Athletics Department held the ninth annual "Mustang Shootout", presented by Marshall Radio, this past Saturday, Sept. 6, at Shooter's Sporting Clays east of Marshall.

Proceeds from the event go towards student-athlete scholarships at SMSU.

A total of 109 individuals participated in the event with overall first place individual honors going to Ken Mathiowetz, with Leslie Murphy winning the women's individual championship and Samuel Dieken earning the youth championship.

The team champion—HP Ringers—included team members Doug Lemke, Mark Maschoff, Ken Mathiowetz and Chris Chamness, while the team from Action Sports of Jim Swenson, Jason Becker, Gary Becker, Jeff DeSchepper and Tim Krogen earned second place honors.
