MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University outdoor track & field teams continue its season this Friday and Saturday with meets in both Sioux City, Iowa, and Lawrence, Kan.
 
Five members of the SMSU men's team will compete at the 88^th annual Kansas Relays being held at Rock Chalk Park on the campus of the University of Kansas starting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. SMSU's 4x400 (Alex Bloomquist, Chris Kveseth, Ewert Jansen van Rensburg and Alejandro Sanchez) and 4x800 (Austin LaFollette, Chris Kveseth, Ewert Jansen van Rensburg and Alejandro Sanchez) relay teams will compete. LaFollette will also run in the 400 meter hurdles, while Sanchez will compete in the 800 meters.
 
The remainder of the SMSU women's and men's teams will be competing at the Sioux City Relays at Elwood Olsen Stadium. The field events will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday with track events starting at 3:30 p.m. Track events resume again on Saturday at 10 a.m.
