LAWERENCE, Kan. – A total of five Southwest Minnesota State University men's athletes competed at the Kansas Relays at the University of Kansas on Friday.

SMSU had two individuals compete with Alejandro Sanchez finishing eighth in the 800 meter seeded race with a time of 1:53.31, while Austin LaFollette placed 33rd in the 400 meter hurdles at 57.93.

SMSU's 4x800 relay team of Alex Bloomquist, Chris Kveseth, Ewert Jansen Van Rensburg and Sanchez finished fourth out of 10 teams with a time of 7:49.97. The 4x400 relay team of LaFollette, Kveseth, Van Rensburg and Sanchez finished with a time of 3:21.16 to place 13th.
