MARSHALL, Minn. — Southwest Minnesota State University junior football defensive lineman
Jon Dicke has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-Super Region 4 team on Thursday. The announcement was made by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Super Region 4 is made up of member schools from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), the Lone Star Conference (LSC), the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC).
Dicke was one of four defensive linemen named to the 24-member team.
A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Dicke carries a 4.0 cumulative GPA in exercise science. This season, Dicke started all 11 games for the Mustangs and finished seventh on the team with 44 tackles with 1.5 for loss and one sack. He also had two pass break-ups.
Dicke is a two-time Academic All-NSIC honoree and has played in 32 career games recording 69 tackles.
Dicke will now advance to the Academic All-America ballot, where first, second and third team All-Academic honorees will be selected next month.
