SMSU Athletics

Derek Armstrong is in his second season as an assistant track & field coach at SMSU in 2019-20.
 
Armstrong came to SMSU after spending the 2018 track season as a volunteer assistant at Galesburg High School (Ill.).
 
Armstrong was a four-year letter winner sprinter at Quincy University (Ill.), where he served two seasons as a team captain.
 
A 2017 graduate of Quincy with a degree in sports management, Armstrong is pursuing his master’s degree at SMSU.
