The NCAA Division II Executive Board adopted emergency legislation to establish an age-based eligibility model as recommended by the Management Council in July 2026, permitting Division II student-athletes up to five years of eligibility if they enroll in college no later than the academic year after their 19th birthday. As a result, and based on recommendation from the College Sports Communicators and NCAA representatives, the following class year designations for the 2026-27 academic year are being used: Fr., So., Jr., Sr., 5th.
