Katie Gangelhoff enters her inaugural season as an assistant coach with the SMSU volleyball program in 2009-10.
A native of South St. Paul, Minn., Gangelhoff comes to SMSU after a stellar career at NSIC neighbor Minnesota Duluth. The four-time all-conference setter had four 1,000 plus assist seasons with the Bulldogs and was a three-time AVCA All-America selection, including a first-team honoree in 2008.
As a senior in 2008, Gangelhoff recorded 1,266 assists (11.94/set) and had 276 digs (2.60/set). She completed her career as UMD's all-time leader in assists with 6,035.
Gangelhoff is pursing her master's degree in education leadership at SMSU.
