Jamie Dunn is in her sixth season as head coach of the Mustang softball program in 2019. The 10th head coach in program history, Dunn was named to the position on June 21, 2013. She has a career record of 102-141-1 overall, including 62-79-1 in conference play.
 
Dunn has helped lead SMSU to four straight NSIC Tournament appearances, which includes winning three games in a pair of tournaments and two more victories in another.20344
 
Despite playing only six home games in 2018, SMSU recorded 18 victories and earned a spot in the NSIC Tournament with a 10-14 record. SMSU knocked off three regional ranked teams in the tournament and advanced to the final day before earning a fourth place finish in the 10-team field. Dunn picked up her 100th career victory during the postseason run with a first round win over Minnesota State.
 
In 2017, the Mustangs finished 23-23 overall and qualified for the NSIC Tournament for the third consecutive season with a 14-14 league record.
 
SMSU finished 19-33 overall and 12-18 in the NSIC in 2016, but made a run in the NSIC Tournament, reeling off three victories to finish fourth in the 10-team tournament.
 
In 2015, Dunn led SMSU to a 27-29 overall record, recording its highest win total for the program since the 2011 season. SMSU also finished 14-16 in the NSIC for a 10th place finish and a spot in the NSIC tournament for the first time since 2011.
 
During her first season at SMSU in 2014, Dunn led SMSU to a 15-30-1 record, including a mark of 12-17-1 in NSIC play, just missing qualifying for the NSIC tournament.
 
Dunn came to SMSU after spending the 2013 season as an assistant coach at Division II Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado. CCU, which started its softball program in 2012, finished 25-23 overall during her one season and recorded a third place in the 13-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a mark of 21-11.
 
Prior to CCU, Dunn spent three seasons (2009-11) as head softball coach at Fruita Monument High School in Grand Junction, Colo., leading the team to a 59-11 record, including three Class 5A state tournament appearances and two conference titles. She was named the Southwestern League Coach of the Year in 2010.  Dunn earned her first head coaching position in 2002, spending four seasons (2002-05) at Palisade High School in Grand Junction and leading her squad to three Class 4A state tournament appearances and one conference title.
 
Dunn had an outstanding three-year career (2000-02) at Colorado Mesa University. A three-time All-RMAC honoree, Dunn led the conference in home runs and RBIs in 2000, while helping lead CMU to the 2000 College World Series. She was named all-region three times at CMU and garnered NFCA All-American honors in 2000. As a senior in 2002, she was named team captain, was named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and was chosen as CMU's Female Athlete of the Year.
 
Dunn started her playing career in 1998 at Ft. Lewis College, earning honorable mention All-RMAC honors before transferring to CMU. She concluded her career batting .362 with 44 home runs, 40 doubles and 174 RBIs.
 
Dunn is a 2002 graduate of Colorado Mesa University, while earning her master's degree from Colorado Christian University in 2008.
