WAYNE, NEB.: The Southwest Minnesota State soccer team lost 1-0 to Wayne State on Saturday in Wayne, Neb. The Mustangs actually out-shot the Wildcats 16-7, including 7-2 in shots on goal.
Courtney McCarthy and
Ashley Elbers each led SMSU with two shots on goal.
Kendra Olchefske took the loss in goal.
Willow Nyman-Jones scored with less than two minutes left from 18 yards out, unassisted, to give WSC the victory.
Southwest travels to Augustana on Sunday.
