WINONA, MINN. - The Southwest Minnesota State lost to No. 4 Winona State 2-0 on Saturday in Winona. The loss drops SMSU to 1-13 overall and 1-9 in the NSIC, while WSU improves to 14-1 overall and 10-0 in the NSIC.
Southwest allowed just 14 shot attempts, the second-fewest opponents' total of the season for the Mustangs.
Kendra Olchefske made four saves in the net.
Jena Tiemeyer had SMSU's only shot on goal.
Sarah Colleran scored for the Warriors just 10:09 into the game. Melissa Sellier added an insurance goal in the 75th minute.
