MARSHALL, MINN.: The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team lost 49-0 to No. 1 Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday night in Marshall. The loss drops SMSU to 0-10 on the season, while MSU is now 18-1-1.
The Mavericks won three matches by forfeit, three by tech fall, two by decision and one each by major decision and fall.
SMSU closest match was at 184 where Tyler Johnson lost by an 8-4 decision to Ben Becker. MSU's lineup featured six wrestlers ranked in the top-eight in NCAA II.
SMSU is back in action on Feb. 22 when it travels to Upper Iowa for its regular season finale.
