ST. PAUL, MINN.: The Southwest Minnesota State women's tennis team defeated Bethel University 5-4 on Saturday in a non-conference match in St. Paul. The win moves the Mustangs to 1-2 on the season.
Ananda Ferrari helped SMSU to two of its wins, winning with doubles partner Ramona Lerch 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and winning a No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2. SMSU's other three wins came via singles matches, including Diana Naatz at No. 4, Cailey Grupe at No. 5 and Trisha Baldwin at No. 6.
Southwest continues action on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. when it travels to St. Cloud to take on Minnesota Duluth.
