Mustangs Drop Dragons

ST. CLOUD, MINN.: The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team defeated Minnesota State Moorhead 6-3 on Thursday evening in St. Cloud in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match. The win brings the Mustangs to 5-7 overall and 2-0 in the NSIC, while the Dragons are now 2-9 overall and 2-3 in the NSIC.

SMSU swept doubles, winning 8-4 at No. 1, 9-7 at No. 2 and 8-3 at No. 3. Ananda Ferrari won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles over Ashley Taborsky. Ramona Lerch won in three sets at No. 2 singles and Diana Naatz won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

The Mustangs play Winona State and Mary in NSIC matches on Saturday, Mar. 29 at St. Cloud, before playing their home opener on Sunday, Mar. 30.
