Box Score

ST. PAUL, MINN.:
Senior Kasey Loeslie had a match-high 15 kills to lead No. 13 Southwest Minnesota State over Central Washington 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-11) at the Concordia-St. Paul Classic Saturday morning.

SMSU improves to 10-1, while Central Washington drops to 7-4.

Loeslie finished the match with an efficient .542 hitting percentage; her peformance was complimented by fellow senior Laura Hegerle, who finished the match with 12 kills.

Junior Sara Graf recorded a match-high 42 assists, but it was her serving that stole the show in the final set.  The setter had four service aces in the final seven points of the match to seal the win for the Mustangs.

The defensive effort was captained by senior Sarah Quiram.  The libero had a match-high 28 digs to help SMSU hold Central Washington to just a .073 hitting percentage for the match.

The Wildcats had a hard time getting through SMSU's tough defensive front row anchored by Loeslie and freshman Devin Diedrich.  The two middle blockers combined for six blocks and were key in holding Central Washington to just six kills in the final set.

The Mustangs never trailed the Wildcats, holding leads by as many 10 or more in every set.  Another solid team hitting performance allowed the Mustangs to lead by as many as 14 in the closing set.

SMSU plays one more match today as it takes on No. 5 Truman at 3 p.m.
