SMSU Looks to Snap Streak on Saturday Night

MARSHALL, Minn. -  Southwest Minnesota State University will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday, Oct. 17, hosting Concordia University at Mattke Field at the Regional Event Center.  Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.

SMSU, which began the season 3-1 overall, has lost four of its last five games and is coming off a 29-7 home loss to Augustana.  The seven points scored by SMSU was its lowest scoring game since week 10 in 2006. 

SMSU, 3-4 overall, 2-4 NSIC, 1-3 NSIC South, finished with just 160 yards of offense in the loss to Augustana.  The Mustangs entered the game ranked ninth in the nation in scoring and 13th in passing offense. 

Concordia, 1-6 overall, 1-5 NSIC, 0-3 NSIC South, has lost four straight games and is coming off a 54-3 home loss to No. 7 Minnesota State, Mankato.  The Golden Bears have been limited to 10 total points in its last two games.
