MARSHALL - Southwest Minnesota State University will look to break a five-game losing streak when it concludes the 2009 road season this Saturday, Oct. 31, with a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. at Swisher Field.
SMSU, 3-6 overall, 2-6 NSIC, 1-5 NSIC South, began the season 2-0, but has lost six of its last seven games and is coming off a tough 42-32 road loss to No. 5 Minnesota State, Mankato.
NSU, 2-7 overall, 2-6 NSIC, 2-4 NSIC North, earned a 23-0 shutout victory over MSU?Moorhead on Saturday in Aberdeen.
SMSU will also look to snap a seven-game losing streak in Aberdeen. The Mustangs are 1-11-1 all-time in Aberdeen, with the lone victory coming on Oct. 13, 1990. A season ago, SMSU won 39-32 in Marshall, snapping 16-game losing streak to NSU that dated back to 1991.
