Terry Culhane his 150th career victory Saturday afternoon in Marshall, Minn.
SMSU moves to 21-7 9 (11-5 NSIC), while BSU drops to 9-17 (6-9 NSIC).
Diedrich and
Brooke Burmeister led SMSU's offensive charge. Burmeister added 11 kills to compliment Diedrich's 14.
Cara Carson and
Sara Graf split setting duties, finishing with 27 and 11 assists, respectively.
Kenzie Niesche led the Mustangs with 16 digs.
SMSU took advantage of a poor BSU hitting performance and countered with an efficient one of its own. The Mustangs posted a .258 hitting percentage to BSU's .068.
Double-figures leads appeared in all three sets, the largest coming when SMSU built a 13-point advantage to close the final set and take the match.
The Mustangs were sharp at the net and recorded 10 blocks--one shy of their season high. Diedrich had a team-high five blocks.
Nicole Solum's nine kills and Brie Groskretuz's 18 digs led BSU.
SMSU will host No. 14 Minnesota State, Mankato next Saturday at 3 p.m.
