Bout Play-by-play

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team posted wins in seven of its 10 bouts to pick up a 24-12 conference win over Northern State Wednesday night in Aberdeen, S.D.

SMSU improves to 3-5 (2-3 NSIC), while NSU drops to 3-7 (0-5 NSIC).

Michal Barrie, Brandan Schunk, Wade Granger, Tyler Johnson, Tyler Reed and Brian Rodas all picked up wins by decision for the Mustangs; David Albrecht had a win by forfeit at 149 pounds.

The only bouts SMSU lost on the evening were at 125, 157 and 174 pounds. 

The win snapped a four-match losing skid for the Mustangs.

SMSU returns to action on Saturday when the Mustangs host conference-foe Minnesota State Moorhead at 3 p.m.
