ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State's Lindsey Sather scored in the 23rd minute to break a scoreless tie and lift the Huskies to 1-0 win over the Southwest Minnesota State soccer team Sunday afternoon in both squads' season openers in St. Cloud.

SMSU managed just two shots on goal on the afternoon; one came from Maggy Rouse and the other from Liz Judkins.  Rouse also led the Mustangs with six shot attempts.

Kendra Olchefske recorded seven saves in the loss.  She dealt with a Husky offense that outshot the Mustangs on goal 8-2.

SCSU goalkeeper Kelly Elizabeth finished with two saves.

SMSU returns to action on Sept.11 and 13 when the Mustangs travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., for the Northern Sun Festival Tournament.
