DULUTH, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State mustered just two total shots and Minnesota Duluth recorded 18--six of them on goal--as the Bulldogs topped the Mustangs 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Duluth, Minn. The match was both teams' conference opener.
UMD improves to 3-1-1 (1-0 NSIC), while SMSU drops to 0-4-0 (0-1 NSIC).

Siobhan Morales accounted for SMSU's two shots; the Mustangs failed to record a shot on goal in the loss.
The Bulldogs struck early when Clare Dahmen found the back of the net in the ninth minute. The game was scoreless for the next 59 minutes before Brittany Brown knocked another in to give UMD a decisive 2-0 advantage.
Kenda Olchefske recorded four saves for the Mustangs.
SMSU will finish this weekend road set tomorrow, taking on Bemidji State at 1 p.m.
