MARSHALL, Minn.- A goal late in the second half carried Minnesota Crookston over Southwest Minnesota State's soccer team resulting in a 2-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory today.
Minnesota Crookston improves to 2-10-2 (2-7-2 NSIC) on the season; SMSU moves to 1-9-2 (0-7-2 NSIC).
Crookston's Ashley Sletten scored the game-winning goal with less than six minutes left in the game on a dish from Jessica Goodrich. Sletten also netted Crookston's first half goal after 24 minutes on an assist from Megan Flynn.
The Mustangs took 31 shots—20 on goal, while Crookston took seven with five shots on goal.
Golden Eagle goalie, Anna Ogaard finished with a game-high 19 saves.
SMSU will be in action again this weekend when they travel to Winona State on Saturday and Upper Iowa on Sunday.
