GAME NOTES

Setting the Scene: The Southwest Minnesota State University football team will kickoff its 43rd season of football on Thursday, Sept. 2, hosting the Northern State University Wolves at Mattke Field at the Regional Event Center in Marshall.  Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.  It will be the first time ever the two teams will play a non-conference game versus each other and will also be the first time the two teams have met for a season opener.  The game will also feature new head coaches for both teams.  Cory Sauter is in his first season at SMSU, while Tom Dosch begins his first season at NSU.
