MATCH NOTES
Setting the scene: Southwest Minnesota State University (12-2, 4-1 NSIC) will continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Friday, Oct. 1 against MSU Moorhead (6-7, 2-3 NSIC) in Marshall to kick-off the athletic homecoming activities on campus. First serve is set for 7 p.m at the PE Gym. The Mustangs are coming off a 3-1 non-conference win over Concordia, St. Paul on Tuesday. It was the first win over the Golden Bears in Marshall since 2001. The last time SMSU defeated CU was on Sept. 22, 2007 in St. Paul, Minn. It was also just the second win over CU since head coach
Terry Culhane took over the program in 2004. SMSU will then play Minnesota, Crookston (0-13, 0-5 NSIC) at 3 p.m. at the PE Gym on homecoming.
