SETTING THE SCENE: Southwest Minnesota State University (3-5, 3-4 NSIC, 1-2 NSIC South) travels to Winona, Minn., to take on Winona State University (4-4, 4-3 NSIC, 2-1 NSIC South) in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division match-up on Saturday, Oct. 29.  Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. at Verizon Wireless Stadium.

SMSU is coming off a come-from-behind 28-24 victory over Upper Iowa, scoring the game-winning touchdown with 4:15 remaining in the game on a Cody Condon 3-yard reception.

SMSU?quarterback Tyler Peschong ranks 28th in the country in total offense (272.3), while running back Warren Matthews ranks 23rd in all-purpose yardage (150.2).

WSU snapped a three-game losing streak last Saturday with a 58-24 home victory over Concordia-St. Paul.  Rayon Simmons rushed for 136 yards and five touchdowns to pace the Warriors.  Quarterback Alex Nelson, who has started the past two games for WSU, completed 17 of 25 passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns.  Simmons is ranked 29th in the country in rushing yards per game (92.0).
