BEMIDJI, Minn.- Bemidji State University held Southwest Minnesota State University scoreless today while netting one goal to earn a 1-0 victory in the final game of the season.
SMSU finishes the season with a record of 5-11-1 (4-8-1 NSIC), while Bemidji wraps up the regular season with a record of 8-7-3 (6-4-3 NSIC). SMSU's five wins is the highest win total since going 9-10-1 in 2004.
The only score of the game came early in the 18th minute of play off a header from the cross post by BSU's Mari Wallestad. The assist was credited to Bri Scanlan and Kari McAllen.
The Beavers held the Mustangs to nine shots, four of which were on goal while BSU had 26 shots with 13 on goal.

This weekend's matches conclude the 2011 regular season. The top eight teams will start the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd.
