Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan coming to Marshall next Wednesday

MARSHALL, Minn. - The Minnesota Twins 52nd annual Winter Caravan will make a stop at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall on Wednesday, Jan. 25, giving fans a chance to meet with players and broadcasters from Minnesota's major league baseball team. 

Minnesota Twins players Anthony Swarzak, Trevor Plouffe and Chris Parmelee, along with broadcaster and former Twin Dan Gladden, are scheduled to attend the event, fielding questions and hosting an autograph session.

The event will take place at the SMSU Upper Level Conference Center with doors opening at 5:15 p.m.  The program will begin at 6 p.m. with a highlight video followed by members of the caravan holding a question and answer session.  An autograph session will close the event.

Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children (18-and-under).  A ballpark supper of hot dogs, chips and pop are included in the admission price.  Proceeds from the event go towards the SMSU softball program.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Marshall Radio studios on East College Drive in Marshall or at the door prior to the event.

Swarzak has appeared in 39 career games for the Twins, with 23 starts and has a career record of 7-14 with a 5.03 ERA in 161 innings.  Plouffe has played in 103 games the past two seasons, batting .226 with 10 home runs, 19 doubles and 37 RBIs.  Parmelee played in 21 games in 2011, batting .355 with four home runs, six doubles and 14 RBIs.

Gladden serves as a broadcaster on the Minnesota Twins Radio Network.  He played in the major leagues for 11 years and was a member of the Twins 1987 and 1991 World Championship teams.
